“World of Warcraft” is a wonderful online game that brings nerds of every stripe together all across the globe. Some of those nerds end up falling in love. Which is great! Unless they’re Jessica Pearce, a 33-year-old Washington woman who authorities say fell in love with someone young enough to be her son.

According to the P-I, Pearce and the boy met while playing WoW in 2008. He lied and told her he was 24. A couple months and some serious online flirting later, he told her the truth: he was actually 15.A sensible woman might have ended things there. But according to charging documents, Pearce wasn’t sensible, she was in love.Three times in the next year, Pearce reportedly flew to New Jersey to meet with her underage amor. One time she even brought along her six-year-old son, who must have been curious as to why mommy was shacking up with a kid that looked like his older brother. The boy’s parents didn’t catch on to their son’s relationship until July of last year, when the dad found explicit text messages from Pearce. He told his son to end the relationship. But, being a teenager, this ultimatum didn’t seem to have much of an effect. On September 11 of last year, Pearce allegedly flew to New Jersey for the final time. She brought with her a forged ID card, so that the boy could hop on a plane and return to Washington with his very own Susan Sarandon. The boy’s parents found a note from their son saying he’d run away to New York. But knowing about relationship with Pearce, it didn’t take long for police to catch up with the lovestruck pair at a highway rest stop three days later.Right now, Pearce has only been charged with child pornography because of photos she allegedly took of her and the boy having sex. And according to interviews, she’s all but admitted to the inappropriate conduct, even going so far as to say that they didn’t use protection because they wanted to start a family together.
