We’ve gotten a laugh or two out of Starbucks’ introduction of its new VIA instant coffee earlier this year. But it’s apparently no joke to Nescafe, which has bought up every teepee-topped Yellow Cab in town for a new anti-Starbucks advertising campaign. Good to know that Nescafe’s keeping it real, with regards to instant coffee. (Isn’t that kind of like Chrysler bragging that it was all about crappy cars decades before Hyundai reared its little head?) Nescafe’s rich and robust heritage hasn’t stopped them from copying the Starbucks VIA fingerling packets, however. Attempts to reach a human being at Nestle, owner of Nescafe, for comment were unsuccessful.
