But here’s what we do know so far. Around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a witness walking through a parking lot behind the Phi Delta Theta fraternity spotted Henley’s body. Calling 911, the witness told police that Henley appeared to be dead and may have fallen through a hole.Carla Henley described music as “my passion, my best friend, my outlet, my soul.”Today, the UW’s student paper added some more specifics, reporting that the 20-year-old was actually found in a stairwell. Either way, Henley’s cause of death has not been determined yet. And while Seattle police still have it listed as “suspicious,” they also say all evidence right now is pointing to a suicide.As an aspiring singer/songwriter in the internet age, Henley left a lot of visual evidence to pore over. The self-described “girl with a passion for music” had her own page on MySpace, YouTube and Facebook.Below is the last video Henley uploaded, a cover of Gavin Degraw’s “Chariot” she posted on September 3.Henley only used her Twitter account sporadically. But most of the messages are unambiguously positive. In the past couple of months she mainly wrote notes about a trip to Hawaii, thanked friends and family for coming out to her latest shows and Tweeted about the distance of her runs.Henley’s last electronic missive came on September 9: “All you need to do is really know who you are and not let anyone or anything else make you question that.”Henley was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, which has a house down the street from where her body was found. A spokesperson for the national chapter told Daily Weekly they’ll be sending out a joint press release with the fraternity later today.
