Unwilling to be outdone by their Seattle brethren– and because they can thanks to a law passed in Olympia last month– King County is also vowing to study taxpayer-funded campaigns. Council members decided as much today, adopting a motion to review trends in campaign cost, revisit the history of public financing in Seattle and the county, estimate expenses, and research options to pay for it.The county council will hold a meeting to hear public comment on the issue Monday, May 19 at the Shoreline Conference Center.
