Tracy Rector, executive director of local indigenous media arts non-profit Longhouse Media, is kicking off the new year by bringing together a stacked group of local indigenous artists for her gallery show You Are on Indigenous Land. As everyone argues about the Oregon militia and their land rights battle, it’s important to remember there were people here wayyyyy before them or the federal government stomped on in—and those people are still here. We sat down with Tracy Rector to talk about the ideas behind her upcoming show, which features work from Cheyenne Randall, Shaun Petersen, Nahaan, Joe ‘wahalatsu?’ Seymour, and the man who illustrated our interview with Rector, Jeffrey Veregge:
