This afternoon, at 4:30, I’ll be in-studio at KISW (99.9) to discuss my dive bar book with the meatball co-hosts of the Mens Room, one of whom considers the Pacific Inn (one of the 100 bars featured in the book) to be about the greatest place on earth.Then Saturday, at 4 p.m., I’ll be reading and signing on the deck (weather permitting, and it should permit) at Mike’s Chili Parlor (1447 NW Ballard Way), the third-ranked dive in the book and a brick-brown Ballard landmark. Glenn Bell will be backing me on acoustic guitar, and odds are I’ll be visiting a men’s room of a different nature after enough chili-Ouzo-Rainier rotations. While the door remains cracked for the tour to continue, this is the last scheduled event in support of the book, so if you’ve been on the fence about attending one of ’em, time to get off!
