There’s no rhyme or reason to how the year’s best photos were chosen. Some remind us of 2010’s biggest trends. Others demonstrate Seattle’s residents are their weirdest. The best are simply damn fine examples of photography. It’s called Bumbershoot for a reason and this year, the rain didn’t disappoint. I don’t think there was a rainless moment in all of Labor Day weekend.

In May, the traveling luchadore and burlesque group Lucha VaVoom! performed a wildly entertaining show at the Showbox. Here, performers Mango and Little Chicken tussle on the ropes.

The Seattle Erotic Art Fesitval took place towards the end of April and, needless to say, contained artwork and performers more risque than this man.
Emerald City ComiCon pulled out all the stops this year, bringing in such guest speakers as Leonard Nimoy and Lou Ferrigno.
September: Bumbershoot happens whether there’s rain or shine. This year, in spite of the rain, some pretty awesome acts and students took place – like this motorcycle thrill ride across a tightrope. The act was performed by the professional women of the Circus Una Motorcycle Thrill Show, so don’t try this at home, kids.
In March, Seattle Weekly tagged along with a group of bikers traveling from bikini barista stand to bikini barista stand. The original slideshow was heavy on motorcycling men, and this is a rare glimpse of a bikini barista.

In March, Seattle Weekly sponsored the second annual Beard and Stache Fest in Seattle. This man, Rooty, showed off his bearded self.

Aww, to be at an age where you can still spell sexy with an ‘i’ and not be ridiculed for it! These girls, pictures at the Justin Bieber concert in July, really caught the Bieber fever!

The real Rally to Restore Sanity might have taken place in Washington D.C., but Washington State supporters of Jon Stewart’s movement converged in downtown Seattle to show their spirit of sanity.

The World Championship ICE Racing Contest – where all variety of motorized vehicles zoomed across the frozen arena at the ShoWare center – kicked off with the national anthem.

In October, Seattle Weekly’s own Mike Seely attempted to complete the burger madness challenge – eating a 12-patty burger – at the aptly named Burger Madness.
