There are no pleasant ways to die. But some deaths are worse

There are no pleasant ways to die. But some deaths are worse than others. Take John Twelves, for example. The 90-year-old Olympia man was fortunate enough not to suffer in his final seconds. But even though he went quickly, he still had an uncomfortably long time to contemplate the appropriate way — fist bump or hand shake? — to greet St. Peter.Yesterday, Twelves parked his car the opposite way he normally parks it. Then, when he went to pull out, he put his 1985 Toyota Tercel in the wrong gear and crashed through his carport. This would have been a minor blunder were it not for one thing: Twelves’ home apparently sits on a 120-foot cliff overlooking the beach. A view which he probably enjoyed under normal circumstances, but certainly didn’t as he was falling down it.Prologue: For all those ageists thinking Twelves was just an old who shouldn’t have had a driver’s license to begin with, know that he’d just finished a canoe trip and was on his way to tow the vessel when tragedy struck. So there.
