The woman with the hot rod is Marcie Maxwell, a democratic candidate for the state house from Renton. Apparently someone doesn’t want her to win. Police arrested and as-yet-unnamed 43-year-old Renton man for driving along a street, yanking out 138 of her campaign signs. The King County Sheriff’s office say they expect him to be charged with eight counts of misdemeanor “removing or defacing political advertising.” Each count is punishable by up to a $1,000 fine and 90 days in jail. I’ll save you a minute on the math, that’s up to $8,000 and 2 years in the slammer. Hate the opposition? Do the right thing–spread baseless internet rumors. Just leave the yard signs alone.
