The media are suckers for a little self-flagellation. Every year, dozens of outlets put out lists of the most underreported stories of the year. Essentially saying, Hey, look how bad we are at our jobs! The stories that don’t get nearly as much attention (ironic?), however, are those that were overreported. (And yeah, I know that to be qualify they had to get a lot of attention to begin with.
