The King County Ferry District, which currently controls the West Seattle Water Taxi and downtown-to-Vashon passenger-only service and is exploring additional routes, is looking for a new executive director to replace Kjris Lund. The pay ain’t bad.Explains county staffer Chris Arkills: “Kjris Lund has been working as a consultant with the ferry district for a couple of years and has done a fabulous job getting us up and running. But ongoing support services are not really what she does as a consultant. So, we are looking to transition to a staff member model rather than a consulting model. The goal is to hire someone by the new year, but Kjris will stay on for as long as it takes to find the right person. And she has indicated she would be happy to work with us in the future on smaller projects.”
