The hot cheese is not complimentary.

This is just one of the many takeaways from an incident early Monday morning at a 7-Eleven near SW Barton and 35th Avenue SW. According to Seattle Police, a woman – suspected to be a regular – entered the store just before 1 a.m. and purchased a bag of Doritos (a snack food SPD knows a little something about). After paying for the chips, however, the woman proceeded to hit up the liquid cheese dispenser and started filling her newly purchased bag of chips with nacho cheese goodness. As one might expect, the store clerk quickly informed the suspect that he’d have to charge her for the liquid cheese, at which point things turned messy.

According to the SPD Blotter blog:

When the clerk informed the woman he would have to charge her for the cheese, she flew into a rage and began screaming at the man, before she threw the cheese-filled bag at his head, spattering him with hot orange goo.

The suspect fled the store and ran to a silver Chevy Malibu, and when the clerk followed the woman out to her car to get a look at her license plate, she punched him in the back and took off.

The victim called 911 and officers arrived to find the man with cooling cheese on his hat and face. The victim told officers he believed the suspect—a black female, about 35 years old, wearing large hoop earrings and a grey sweatsuit—is a regular at the store. The clerk was not seriously injured.

According to SPD, the woman – who is now wanted – called police at some point this morning and indicated she would come down to the precinct to “talk about the incident.” However, she never showed up. Presumably, anyone with information on the liquid cheese bandit is encouraged to call local law enforcement authorities.
