The Energy and Technology Committee has voted 2-0 to keep the City Light superintendent. The full council is scheduled to vote Monday.Says committee chairman Bruce Harrell: “The data overwhelmingly supported confirmation. Data such as the finances of the utility, his development of a strategic plan, the letters of support from rate payers. There was a very vocal group that did raise some legitimate concerns about morale and internal communications. One of the things I want to do, assuming he gets confirmed, is to revisit those issues. While I recommended reconfirmation I don’t take lightly some of the information we revealed during our process.”
