reports that an 18-1/2 hour manhunt ended Monday afternoon when three dozen Everett police officers, search dogs and a helicopter equipped with infrared heat sensors were called off after a fruitless search to locate Harris-Moore.The latest saga comes after a Granite Falls family was relieved of blankets, shoes and food. A shot (no one’s saying “gun” but that’s what you’d assume) was fired from the woods when deputies came to investigate. As Pam Kohler, Harris-Moore’s mom, articulates, even though her son hasn’t been named as a suspect, the ante seems to have been upped, and what started off smelling like the beginnings of a great screenplay now has the faint whiff of potential tragedy.”But if he did shoot that gun, it was really stupid,” she said. “That gives the cops a reason to shoot him.”
