The best thing about Everyday Music’s extensive collection of 10,000-plus CDs, most of them used, is that you’re as likely to find Rancid’s entire catalog as you are James Brown’s or Duran Duran’s. Like the musical tastes of the Capitol Hill neighborhood it occupies, the store’s catalog is varied and eclectic. You probably won’t find multiple copies of the latest pop hit, but the ground floor’s CD selection (vinyl is upstairs) goes far beyond the KEXP-type artists you might expect from a secondhand Capitol Hill record shop. There’s also an awesome $3 CD bargain bin with lots of high-quality releases from bands you love, not just experimental German techno records nobody wants.
