MARYSVILLE — A 19-year-old man was arrested for investigation of assault Tuesday night in Everett.

On March 2, a man was reportedly struck in the head several times with a hatchet, Marysville police said. He said he met up with a man and a girl on State Avenue, and they went to Totem Middle School to use narcotics. The victim was able to reach a nearby Taco Bell, where he told people he had been attacked and robbed. He gave a description of the man and girl to police.

The weapon was found by police during a search of the area that night.

A tip helped detectives confirm the man and girl’s identities. The man was found at about 7:30 p.m. March 12 on Evergreen Way in Everett by officers from Marysville and Everett. The suspect allegedly fought with officers before being subdued and taken into custody. Another hatchet was reportedly found in his pants.

The suspect also faces charges in Everett for drug-related crimes and resisting arrest.

The victim is out of the hospital and recovering from four skull fractures.
