Sure, the VERA Project is a great place to catch a concert, but it’s not Seattle’s best all-ages venue just because of rock shows. Located in the shadow of the Space Needle, the VERA has an ethos that other venues lack—a steadfast commitment to the local underage music community fostered through sound-engineering workshops, silk-screening classes, art displays, and of course the concerts themselves, which are open to anyone. VERA’s dedicated staff makes it all possible, all the more impressive considering they’re mostly volunteers, many underage themselves. ANDREW GOSPE 305 Harrison St., 956-8372, theveraproject.org
