Source: King County MetroThe Ferry District Board of Directors (also known as the King County Council) met today to consider making the water taxi a year round option as part of an expanded mosquito fleet for those of us who live too close for one of the ferries, and have seriously considered the possibility that it would be faster to walk over the bridges into downtown. Ridership increased 32 percent over last year with heavy use coming during the I-5 construction. In a press release, West Seattle Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Patti Mullen calls the proposal the gift of a reasonable commute. Shorter or no, at least it’s really pretty. The board votes on the Ferry District plan Tuesday. Good thing it wasn’t part of Proposition 1.
