Some worried their “once-seedy” neighborhood would be re-seeded, while others thought nudity in a longtime local eatery would be violations of zoning law and decency. Apparently City Hall agrees, last week refusing to issue permits to would-be strip club owner Bob Davis, reports community blog auroraseattle.com. A cohort of strip club mogul Roger Forbes, Davis hopes to convert Cyndy’s House of Pancakes at 105th and Aurora into a nudie dance club. But a Sept. 1 letter to Davis from the Department of Planning and Development states the club would be too close to a nearby child care facility, something Davis is likely to appeal. Meanwhile, reports the blog, Cyndy’s – though still for sale at $1.6 million – is expected to reopen as a pancake house. “Kitchen manager Mike” says pancakes, dutch babies and chicken fried steak may return as soon as this weekend.
