Slip another buck in the tip jar at your favorite Starbucks location. But, wait, do they have tip jars at the corporate headquarters in SoDo? The ailing coffee giant just announced it will axe around 1,000 jobs at the office level. Ouch. Meanwhile, despite such announcements, the stock is at $15 per share, down from around $26 a year ago. Clearly Howard Schultz has got more work to do, more stores to close, and likely more layoffs to come.
