Seattle’s lingerie football team, the Mist, will play their home games in Kent, and tickets go on sale a week from today. Per a team press release, Fans can order tickets by visiting ShoWare Center’s box office or by calling 253-856-6999. The ShoWare Center is the new arena in Kent where the Seattle T-Birds, formerly housed in KeyArena, play. When the Harlem Globetrotters recently swung through town, they stopped in Kent and Everett instead of KeyArena. With all due respect to roller derby, what is it about the KeyArena that seems to repel even minor-league sports in the post-Sonics era? You’d think they’d be all over events like this after losing their primary tenant/cash cow. Ah well: Seattle’s loss is the suburbs’ gain.
