People came to the Seattle Koyasan Buddhist Temple last friday to pray for the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Buddhist monk Taijo Imanaka led the people in a mantra, where they recited prayers for friends and loved ones in Japan. Guests also wrote prayers on pieces of wood that the monk would then read aloud and then burn at the alter. They also collected donations for the people of Japan.
