Once again, taxi drivers and owners are going to court to stop King County from issuing valuable new licenses to Green Cab. An umbrella organization called the Alliance of Taxi Cab Associations will go before King County Superior Court Judge Douglas McBroom on Wednesday afternoon to ask for an injunction, according to a statement. The Alliance has long felt that the county process for awarding licenses was rigged to favor Green Cab, whose members donated to Ron Sims’ reelection campaign. And that feeling was confirmed when the county chose Green Cab — for a second time — late last month as the company that would receive 50 licenses to operate a new eco- and labor-friendly service. The Alliance already won one temporary injunction in February stopping the county from issuing licenses the first time it chose Green Cab.
