On the same day that Gov. Chris Gregoire released a budget proposal meant to “scare the bejesus” out of Olympia lawmakers, Jeff Reifman, former Microsoft employee and founder of MicrosoftTaxDodge.com, went viral.Reifman claims the Redmond giant owes the state $1.2 billion in back taxes, a figure that’s roughly half of the state’s current budget gap. It’s an issue that’s gotten coverage from us, the P-I and tech-blog BoingBoing. And it may be harder for Microsoft to hide now that there’s increased awareness, along with that bejesus-scaring deficit.
