Okanogan rancher Peter Goldmark has raised nearly $923,000 for his bid for public lands commissioner, while Doug Sutherland has brought in just over $578,000. Quite a coup for any challenger to nearly double the fundraising force of an eight-year incumbent. But Goldmark’s also outspent Sutherland too. He’s got $208,000 in the bank compared with Sutherland’s $258,000. The incumbent appears to be hanging on despite being out-moneyed (and despite that whole sexual harassment thing). A new Stuart Elway poll shows Sutherland with a four-point advantage going into the homestretch. But Goldmark’s chances are looking good. The same poll also found 30 percent of the electorate still undecided.
