Seattle’s “creativity” ranking among U.S. cities, according to an index compiled by Richard Florida, a Carnegie Mellon economics professor. The rankings were developed as part of Florida’s theory that cities with a large population of gays and bohemians are more likely to thrive economically. A corollary study also found Seattle residents fifth in ownership of “fabulous shoes.”
