Nothing says humiliation like showing up for a date with a nonexistent teenager while toting a sex toy, lubrication, and condoms — especially when the kid is an undercover cop. But that’s what happened Feb. 3 to an Eastside youth-volleyball coach named Ronald Swafford, who has been charged with attempted child rape after being caught in an online police sting. He was arrested and remains in jail on $300,000 bail. The charge follows accusations that Swafford solicited sex from a detective posing online as a 13-year-old girl, Seattle PI.com reports.Swafford was a coach with the Northshore Junior Volleyball Program for girls age 14 to 18. According to the charging papers, he identified himself to the undercover cop as a youth-volleyball coach, then engaged in a long e-mail and text-messaging exchange with the “girl.””After learning the female child’s age, Swafford . . . stated he was very interested in teaching sex to the 13-year-old,” the detective told the court. “Swafford described in graphic detail what he planned to do sexually to the minor female child, including oral sex, vaginal sex, and the use of sex toys.”The 58-year-old coach was arrested when he came for what he thought would be a face-to-face meeting with the teen. And, just like those sorry-assed fools on To Catch a Predator with Chris Hansen, Swafford admitted he shouldn’t have set up the sex date.Follow The Daily Weekly on Facebook and Twitter.
