No one likes a roommate who leaves their dirty dishes in the sink. Delester Walton just dislikes them with a little more intensity than you or I. Which is why the 58-year-old Federal Way man is currently in jail, accused of attacking his roommate with a machete. As the P-I reports, when police first arrived at the home around breakfast time on July 30, they found Walton with blood on his sweatpants and the jungle-hacking implement next to the couch. They also found a man bleeding heavily from a gash in his right arm. (That’d be his roommate.)When cops talked to Walton, he told them he’d gotten into a fight with his roommate over the state of the crowded sink. The roommate had punched him, he said. So he picked up the machete and sliced the air four or five times before finally making contact.Police found a handful of notes about cleanliness in the kitchen and bathroom, which suggests this was an ongoing beef, rather than just a momentary flare-up.The notes also suggest that the roommate isn’t the brightest bulb. Walton is a convicted rapist who cops say has also failed to register as a sex offender. In other words, the kind of man you don’t want to be in the habit of pissing off, especially over something as piddling as leaving out a pot with left-over spaghetti.Walton’s roommate was rushed to Harborview and treated, while Walton was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
