Long dismissed as the exclusive domain of ditzoid sorority girls looking for a tasty way to get hammered before the quad with Phi Delts and Sig Eps, the emergence of Jell-O shots in dive bars nationwide has to be one of the more surprising drinking trends in recent memory. Sure, they’re cheesy, but the standard price per shot—a dollar—will get you over such reservations really quickly. So pervasive is the trend that bars like Mac’s Triangle in White Center have taken to distinguishing their shots by using liquors other than vodka, while Dante’s on Roosevelt Way serves them in syringes. We’re not sure if Bill Cosby would approve, but we are sure that Seattleites don’t give a shit either way. MIKE SEELY
