Investigators say Delavergne also stabbed the man in the torso. The 26-year-old victim is in the hospital in stable condition. Delavergne, meanwhile, is still on the loose. Possibly hiding out at a friend’s house, says the Sheriff, and almost certainly trying to find a plausible alibi for why he mistook another human being for a twelve-point buck.UPDATE: According to Delavergne’s wife, she and her husband were having problems at hom. Delavergne almost killed the 62-year-old victim, she says, because he was mad at him for housing his estranged wife.Delavergne, unsurprisingly, has a long record, including convictions for drug possession, burglary and assault.
