Kiyoshi Alan Higashi, Joshua Nathan Reese and Amanda Christine Knight have all been charged in the murder of Jim Sanders.A traffic stop outside of San Francisco led to the arrest of three people investigators believe are responsible for the death of an Edgewood father in last week’s Craigslist killing.Jim Sanders was shot to death the night of April 28 after he allowed three men and one woman into his home. Prospective buyers, they said, for the diamond ring the 43-year-old father of two had listed for sale on Craigslist.Yesterday an officer in Dale City, California pulled over a Ford Crown Victoria for driving without front plates. Inside the car he found Kiyoshi Alan Higashi, 22, Joshua Nathan Reese, 20, and Amanda Christine Knight, 21.Reese allegedly had a weapon within reach under his seat and gave the officer a false name. He and Higashi were arrested and will be extradited back to Washington soon. Knight was able to post bail before California authorities realized she was wanted but turned herself in last night in Pierce County. All three are charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.A fourth suspect is still at large.According to charging documents, the four intruders tied up Sanders, his wife Charlene and two sons with zip ties. One of the men kicked Charlene in the head two times, then pistol-whipped one of the boys.Sanders apparently broke free of his crude cuffs and tried to intervene. He was shot once in the knee, once in the thigh and once in the back of the right shoulder, the fatal shot.”I’m really thankful that they’re caught. I’m so thankful for that because they can’t do any more damage to anyone else, but it doesn’t take away the hurt and the pain of what they’ve taken from us,” said Linda Sanders, Jim’s mother, to King 5.
