Kitsap County medical-marijuana patients have more choices for safe access than ever; as noted in recent “Toke Signals” columns, there are even a couple of operational storefront dispensaries in the bottom part of the county (in unincorporated Gorst, just south of Bremerton). But for patients who aren’t as mobile, or who just prefer to stay home, longtime North Kitsap delivery service Dreamweaver Growers can bring quality cannabis flowers and concentrates to you.

The flowers all go for the flat donation rate of $10 per gram—quite reasonable compared to other area delivery services. And once the flowers arrived, they showed obvious signs of having been babied throughout the growing and curing process. Delivery guy Mark showed up within 30 minutes of his target time with my medicine—five grams each of Elephant Kush (a 90 percent indica) and Dreamweaver (a 90 percent sativa)—in glass jars, and judging by the flowers’ appearance and pristine condition, they had never known the inside of a plastic bag.

Elephant Kush (Elephant x Afghani Kush) has densely tight buds and offers potent pain relief and peaceful euphoria. Its subtly sweet, slightly skunky bouquet and smooth taste presage quick release from aches and pains, muscle spasms, and stress. But the attendant euphoria sets it apart from most indica strains; euphoria is more often associated with sativa medicine, but this is a peaceful sort of elation that is deeply centering and enjoyable.

I thought when I ordered it that Dreamweaver might be a house strain; after all, I got it from Dreamweaver Growers. But, according to Mark, it turns out to be a brand-new offering from renowned breeder TGA Subcool (there’s also a Dreamweaver from Dutch Passion Seeds, but that’s a totally unrelated indica strain). The genetics at work here are Blue Dream x Sour Diesel, with the resultant flowers leaning much more toward Blue Dream in smell and appearance.

The Dreamweaver strain is a good daytime smoke; if you medicate in the morning, it may be a great fit for you. The strain has the mental clarity and energy you’d expect from its two sativa parents, and provides relief without resulting in debilitating couchlock or
drowsiness.

Dreamweaver Growers also offers concentrates: several different varieties of hash oils (including Querkle, Head Cheese, and Super Lemon Haze) are $60 a gram, and Rick Simpson Oil costs $50 a gram; cannabis tincture is $20 a bottle; and Kush Creams topicals are $40.

As long as you have Mark in your living room, if you are at all interested in the methodology and culture of cannabis cultivation, it’d be a shame not to pick his brain. The guy is a walking wealth of information on cannabis-related topics, and he’s more than willing to talk shop. I was happy to learn, for instance, that all Dreamweaver Growers use 100-percent-organic nutrients on their plants; this is medical marijuana done right.
