Kimmie Daily liked to ride her bike around her Puyallup neighborhood. The 16-year-old developmentally-disabled teen was doing just that, on her way to a friend’s house, when she went missing last Tuesday. She was never seen alive again. Her family first got suspicious when she didn’t show up at home when she said she would. Because of a disability, Daily functioned at the level of a nine-year-old. But it wasn’t like her to leave and not come back. Then, yesterday, an 18-year-old boy who lives in the area led police to Daily’s body. The boy first came under police scrutiny during a routine door-to-door check. Something about his story didn’t add up, so he was taken in for more questioning. Eventually he led police to the site where Daily’s body had been dumped. She was found in a ditch in an empty lot in Puyallup’s South Hill, only 12 blocks from her home.Investigators aren’t saying yet how she died. Nor who they think committed the crime. But the boy who led police to Daily’s body has been taken into custody.
