Keith Arthur Anderson’s family suspects he may be in Seattle.Last Wednesday, Keith Arthur Anderson left his home in Anacortes with $300 in cash and nothing else. He hasn’t been seen since. The 62-year-old retired high school counselor left behind his wallet, his phone and his medication, a wife and 18 grandchildren. Ex-son-in-law Jess Brown says the family doesn’t suspect foul play. But he admits Anderson had been troubled lately.Brown says Anderson suffered from migraines. At one point, a doctor prescribed oxycontin to dull the pain. But Anderson got hooked.According to Brown, despite his addiction, Anderson was managing his life OK until this fall, when one of his six daughters died of pneumonia.”I think some of the personal issues were just too much for him,” says Brown.Using his cell phone, Anderson’s family traced his last call to an Arlington-area man they think might serve as his drug dealer. That’s who they think he was going to meet when he drove off in his 1999 Ford Ranger pickup.Other numbers indicate that Anderson may have also had relationships with dealers in northern King County. And Brown says there’s a chance his ex-father-in-law may have checked himself into a shelter in Seattle.”He’s gonna have to eat somewhere,” says Brown.Brown says Anderson is not your typical runaway. Nor your typical homeless person.”He’s got a friggin MBA,” he says. “He’s a great man with a huge following up here.”Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (360) 293-4684.
