Just got the following interoffice memo forwarded to me from a P-I staffer. However trivial, the memo seems to indicate that cubicles won’t be vacated until after Thursday, at least. The caps here are the author’s, not mine: “We’re planning the final book ‘sale’ for TUESDAY, MARCH 10, starting at noon in the lunch room. New books will go out again at 5 p.m. and on Wednesday morning and afternoon. But leave your cash at home. The books, DVDs, etc. will be FREE with restrictions. (Your honesty is on the line here, fellow co-workers.) Each person can select TEN books, or a combo of books and other ‘stuff’ for FREE on TUESDAY. On WEDNESDAY, you can pick FIFTEEN books for free. By THURSDAY, please take as many as you want-either for yourself or donate to your favorite library. PS: If you have reference books to give away, just add them to the book tables on Wednesday or Thursday.”
