Just after Dow Constantine and Susan Hutchison set their first debate, Mike

Just after Dow Constantine and Susan Hutchison set their first debate, Mike McGinn sent out a press release announcing he’s accepted three television stations’ invitations to debate Joe Mallahan. The McGinn campaign says they’ll debate on October 10th or 17th on KOMO, October 22nd on KCTS, and on KIRO on a date to be named later.

In other McGinn news, over at Crosscut, Skip Berger notes that if the former Sierra Club head with the Sonny Crockett-style stubble is elected, it will mark a real breakthrough–for bearded men, who have thus far been shut out of the Seattle Mayor’s office. (In fact, says Berger, the mayor’s office hasn’t seen facial hair since Wes Uhlman grew a ‘stache in the 70s–but then, who didn’t grow a ‘stache in the 70s?)

Granted, bearded men are hardly a marginalized demographic, but a bear-ish mayor would provide some pseudo-variety among the legions of bare white male faces populating the online mayoral portrait gallery.
