Joel Connelly gives some serious love to Seattle’s Best Dive Bars by our own Mike Seely, dedicating today’s entire column to the book. Says Connelly:Seely, managing editor of the Seattle Weekly, is a genuinely funny writer who doesn’t need to get snarky to get laughs. Doesn’t need to get snarky …. hmm, it’s almost as if he’s making a contrast with the style of some other alternative weekly.I’m sure there will soon be too many of these to keep listing every single one, but while we’re on the topic, there’s another rave for Dive Bars from Jessica Voelker over on her blog at Seattle Metropolitan. It sounds like she might be somewhat fond of alcohol herself. And a quick reminder that this coming Monday is Dive Bar day at the Blue Moon, where Mike will be reading, scatting, and fending off his many admirers of both sexes. Keyboard stylings will be provided by Jason Rowe. A complete list of Dive-y events here.
