It’s got plenty of places to work, a great joint for muffins (Macrina), a passable room for music (Showbox SoDo), one of the best bars to have a drink (Hooverville), and more hot-dog vendors than Capitol Hill any day of the week (you know the strip). So why can’t SoDo hustle up some condos already? A few artists and derelicts in the know have turned many of the neighborhood’s older haunts into homes on the sly, and for that we applaud them.
