As we’ve reported, the Cascade Bicycle Club and other transportation advocacy groups have long sought to invade Metro’s Free Ride Area, where loading their bikes onto the bus racks has been prohibited. That’s all about to change with a new pilot program that begins Feb. 6.It began with the 2008 makeover of the Third Avenue bus tunnel, when then King County Executive Ron Sims–an avid cyclist himself–declared cyclists could load their bikes in the tunnel.
