If you’ve walked east across I-5 on Madison recently, you may have noticed the above inscription on the sidewalk at the southeast corner of 7th and Madison. It was put there by Opus, builders of the adjacent shiny office building.The decision to make the inscription “came out of conversations that took place early in the design review process,” says Opus real estate director Scott Hermann. Locals expressed their interest in noting the entry point to the neighborhood. Still, the understated inscription may soon be overpowered: Hermann says the building, which does not yet have any lessees, might sport a large sign bearing the name of a tenant who rents out enough space.
