Whoever the assholes are behind this… …(the recorded voice doesn’t identify itself clearly, something like ‘TD’??), they will call you multiple times a day and there is no way to reach a human being to get them to leave you alone. And don’t bother trying that number–it’s disconnected. They’ll just keep calling. At first I thought it was some far-flung computer screwup way out in the ether, since the voice asks if you’ll be voting in November. November? Aren’t they a little late? But it turns out they are doing research related to the 2009 election. I finally took the goddam poll–lying in response to every question, of course–just to get the machine to go away. (You guys happy now?)The people behind it are clearly looking to foment discontent over the tunnel replacement for the Viaduct–there’s a couple leading questions about the high-cost and the potential for overruns. They ask your opinion of Greg Nickels’ performance. Then they pit Nickels against four candidates and ask how you’d vote. Two are usual suspects (Licata and Steinbrueck); the other two are Mark Sidran and Ron Reagan Jr. First I’ve heard of those two mulling a run.btw, I will find you, TD.
