How mediocre is Pac-10 football going to be this year? We won’t know for a while. But judging by the results of USA Today’s preseason Top 25 poll, the country’s coaches think the answer is “pretty damn mediocre.” With only two teams listed (Oregon and Oregon State — Washington is on the outside looking in with 26 votes), the conference is as well-represented as the Mountain West. Which almost makes you wish USC didn’t get put in the NCAA jailhouse. Again, almost.
