Ho-Down

Pioneer Square is a strange place to encounter an electric bull, but Cowgirls Inc.‘s dancing female bartenders—who jump up onto the bar at regular intervals to do the thoroughly modern two-step in half shirts and tight jeans—are oddly apropos. Given all the ten-gallon hats and the clothesline of discarded bras behind the bar, you might think that every night at Cowgirls is country night—and you might also think that every night belongs to the ladies, but you’d be wrong. Tuesdays are reserved for the honky-tonk pop tunes, and each Thursday is Ladies Night; women are exempt from the entry fee, their drinks are half-priced, and they get to ride the bull for free.
