Hill’s argument with his girlfriend allegedly escalated from “dispute” to “assault.”At this point, it’s safe to say that Leroy Hill is having a rough off-season. Less than two weeks ago, the Seattle Seahawks’ starting outside linebacker pleaded guilty to charges from a 2009 incident where Georgia police found him asleep at the wheel of a 1975 Buick, and in possession of a small baggie of marijuana. With the ink on his plea agreement barely dry, Hill was arrested last weekend following what police suspect was a domestic dispute between him and his live-in girlfriend.According to the City of Issaquah news blotter, when police arrived at Hill’s home Saturday night they found said girlfriend suffering injuries consistent with assault. She identified Hill as the perpetrator and police booked him into Issaquah City Jail on suspicion of misdemeanor assault. For their part, Hill’s employers say they’re going to wait until the facts of the case get sorted out before commenting on his status with the team.”While we are still in the process of gathering information, we are aware of the situation involving Leroy Hill and take these issues very seriously,” says recently installed Seahawks GM John Schneider in a released statement.Hill has yet to be charged. And it’s too early to say how his arrest will play with the discipline-first types in the NFL front office. But considering how Hill might have already violated his probation agreement from the Georgia incident, there’s a looming possibility that the guy who the Seahawks just awarded a $36 million contract extension to will face a long-term suspension come next season.
