Her mother had nine children with five men, then left her with friends who gave her to other friends. Her sister loves her but can’t forgive her. Her daughter learns from a letter that Mom is facing the death penalty. Belgian filmmaker Sebastien Wielemans recorded Forde’s Minutemen efforts in October 2008, then returned after she was arrested in 2009 for a double murder, tracing her roots back to her hometown, Everett. “My journey needs to be documented for history,” she says, claiming she gave up her marriage “to protect America’s borders.” But the sympathic picture is suddenly balanced by a dramatic 911 call during the shooting.
