From “Walt for Congess” on FlickrWhen a friend was hired as the Executive Director of the Idaho Democratic Party a couple years ago, it seemed like an exercise in futility. “I assumed there were no party members left to direct when my parents moved away,” I laughed. Now he’s working to get Bill Sali, a long-time state rep and incumbent freshman US House member, replaced by Boise businessman Walt Minnick. And he’s got a shot. All-knowing National Public Radio says Sali has a bit of an arrogant/crazy problem that’s garnered Minnick support among some of the conservative base. It’s been a tough year for those potato state Republicans.
