People: Seattle or Leavenworth?: Can you tell the difference between the people of Leavenworth and the folks of Seattle?

Friday Night: Bayside, Valencia, and The Status at El CorazA³n: Valencia was undeniably impressive aE” the performance had all of the trappings of a headliner. Though I had heard the name before, seeing the Philly five-piece in person made it stick. Between Shane Henderson on vocals and George Ciukurescu on bass, there was no shortage of showmanship. Add in JD Perry’s guitar prowess and Maxim Soria’s wickedly speedy drumming, and you have one hell of a show.

Joe Biden and His Entourage, Tacoma: VP hopeful Sen. Joe Biden appeard at Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium, Sunday, along with local Democrats such as Gov. Chris Gregoire, Sen. Maria Cantwell, Sen. Patty Murray, and Rep. Norm Dicks.

Burlesque + Zeppelin at The Triple Door: The latest brainchild from Seattle’s Swedish Housewife production company, House of The Unholy #2 picks up right where last year’s burlesque Zeppelin tribute left off.

Last Night: Cold War Kids at The Showbox: Staring intently at the crowd, Cold War Kids bassist Matt Maust performs with the band at The Showbox on September 30. The Kids’ commanding presence blew the roof off of the First Avenue venue.
