For eight years Greg Nickels ruled over Seattle before being jilted by his public and replaced by Mike McGinn four years ago. This year, for the first time in 12 years, Nickels is sitting out the mayoral race, most likely smelling the roses and enjoying the splendor of Seattle. Right? He may no longer be the mayor, but as his bests indicate, this is still Nickels’ city.
