Everett’s Tulalip Casino is the self-proclaimed “No. 1 place for fun,” but it’s also almost an hour away. And good luck trying to get on a $5 blackjack table on the weekend—there’s only one of them on the entire floor. If you’re looking for lots of gaming action, head 15 minutes south to the 14000 block of Interurban Avenue in Tukwila, where a quartet of casinos will satisfy all of your gambling needs. The Great American Casino doesn’t quite live up to its hyperbolic name, but it’s the newest and flashiest of the four, and offers 15 table games and a generous comp policy. Next door, the Riverside Card Room, resembling a Western saloon, has four poker tables and holds nightly $30 buy-in, no-limit Hold ‘Em tournaments. Seats are limited and do fill up, but if you miss the cut, hang out for a bit and a ring game will break out once enough players get bounced. Across the street, the Golden Nugget also has a poker room, but the games are more volatile. If you don’t have the heart to take big swings in your stack, stick to the Riverside. Up the block at the Silver Dollar Casino, you’ll never have to wait to get on a table. All four joints have kitchens, which turn out passable dishes ranging from burgers to pho.
