Elemental Next Door, Elemental’s casual offshoot, has shelves instead of a list; guests are invited to choose their bottle from a selection of dozens of interesting wines from Europe and the Pacific Northwest. Whether it’s a Washington primitivo or French rose, the price is always the same: $30 for a bottle, $15 for a half-bottle. There’s food too, but—as the complimentary glass of bubbly that greets every patron makes clear—wine-drinking is the activity worth pursuing here.
